This amazing set includes high quality go bowls and thick snow-grade go stones.
The bowls look like Sakura (cherry), a rich orange-red wood with pleasant even lines, but could be Keyaki (zelkova). They were refurbished in our Colorado workshop by being scrubbed of their original finish and treated with Monkey Butter. They are size XL and fit the stones comfortably.
The 180 white pieces are snow-grade Mexican clamshell. They were soaked in h2o2 for a week, washed, scrubbed, then rinsed with distilled water.
The 181 black pieces are Japanese slate, slightly larger than the white pieces to account for black's slimming effect. They were washed with soapy water and rinsed with distilled water. They have not been buffed with mineral oil yet, as we leave that option to you.
