This set includes classic bowls and refurbished slate & clamshell go stones.
The wood has a pleasant orange-red tone with nice lines. Cherry has great longevity as a fruitwood. The bowls are XL size, but arrived in great shape so they were not refurbished. Please see the photos for measurements and condition.
There is a full set of stones, about 10mm thick. This is a luxurious thickness for slate and shell, and is the standard for most Title Matches in Japan.
The 180 white pieces are Mexican clamshell, with distinct lines. They were soaked in hydrogen peroxide for a week before being rinsed with distilled water.
The 181 black stones are slate, and are slightly larger than the white; this is intentional to account for black's slimming effect. They were washed with soapy water and rinsed with distilled water, but have not been buffed with mineral oil as we leave this choice to you.
