This vintage board is a rare bird. Not only is it a style that is no longer produced, but it is also unopened in its original box. Tenons on one side slot into the mortises on the other, creating a compact and portable set that still feels solid and substantial. The wood was carefully selected Agathis (shin-katsura). This wood is dense and durable, so the board will last many lifetimes.
The main side has a 19x19 grid. The reverse side of the board has a 13x13 grid, which is great for beginners (boards like this often have a Shogi grid instead). This is a vintage item.
