This thick set includes refurbished go stones and New go bowls.
The 180 white pieces are Mexican clamshell, about 10.8mm thick. There is a mix of grades, but most are moon-grade. They have been refurbished according to our Care Instructions, including a week-long soak in oxygenated water.
The 181 black pieces are off-spec Japanese slate. Small imperfections help emphasize that each piece is made of stone, not glass. The black pieces are about 10.9mm, slightly larger than the white stones to account for black's slimming effect. They were washed with soapy water and rinsed with distilled water. They have not been buffed with mineral oil, we leave that option to you.
The bowls are Hon-Kuwa (Mulberry), and they come with a certificate of authenticity in Japanese. They have gorgeous, thick lines. At size XXL, they fit the stones comfortably.
The stones are a Vintage product.
